Great Thanksgiving... Bring on Christmas!

I had an amazing Thanksgiving with the husband and baby boy. I missed my oldest Braydon. That's the worst part about having a blended family is that I have to share him with his father and his family. I asked Braydon if he had a good time. From what i could get out, he had a great time :) I enjoyed seeing Travis's family. So did Travis. Also enjoyed seeing almost all of my family. I love this time of year! I'm so very blessed

Happy Thanksgiving

I wanted to get on and wish everyone a safe and HAPPY THANKSGIVING! This is my favorite holiday. I love all the family and lets not forget food!


This year Travis will be home. We have never spent a Thanksgiving because he has always had to work. That means that we have to go to both families. I will be going to Pecos tonight and i will meet him there. We will wake up and hopefully Cassie ( travis little sister ) will be on her way. She goes to college in stephenville and we have missed her so much :) and she has missed Beau terribly. We will go over to his granddad's and have lunch. Such sweet caring people. I could not have asked for better in laws. We will leave around noon or so because my family's thanksgiving dinner starts at 4.


Its at my mother's house this year so I dont have to travel to Odessa :) Im excited to see my grandmother.. we just found out that she has intestional cancer and to be honest, we are scared to death. Although we remain hopeful.. cancer is a very scary word.. and shocking.. This year will be bittersweet because im hoping there will be many more to come with her but there is no gaurantee. It makes me sad because I cant think about Thanksgiving without her and im not ready too... She says she has alot of fight left in her and I believe in 100%.

maple pumpkin cheesecake YUMMY!

Prep: 40 minutes
Bake: 68 minutes
Oven : 325 F
Cool: 1 ¾ hours
Chill: 4 hours
Makes: 12 slices

1 ½ cups finely crushed graham crackers
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup, butter, melted
3 8 oz packages of cream cheese, softened
1 cup canned pumpkin
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup pure maple syrup or maple flavored syrup
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs slightly beaten
½ caramel sauce or caramel ice-cream topping

(1) Preheat oven to 325 F. In a medium bowl combined finely crushed graham crackers, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Press crumb mixture onto the bottom and 1 ½ inches up to the sides of an ungreased 9 inch pan. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove from oven. Transfer to a wire rack ; cool completely

(2) Meanwhile, for filing, in an extra large mixing bowl beat cream cheese w/ an electric mixer on medium to high speed until smooth. Add pumpkin, brown sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla. Beat cream cheese mixture until well combined. Fold in eggs

(3) Pour filling into crust lined pan. Bake for 60 – 70 minutes or until center appears nearly set when gently shaken

(4) Let cool for an hour

(5) Cover and chill for 4 to 24 hours

(6) To serve, top w/ caramel sauce and more crushed graham crackers

Happy 8 months Beau

Well, doesnt look happy because he was hungry and wanted a bottle but today he is 8 months old. Time flies tooo fast... I can remember the ENTIRE day of him being born.. I can remember his first cry.. it was so wonderful.. brought tears to my eyes... that feeling never gets old as i did the same w/ Braydon... He is becoming a little man before my eyes as he is crawling and pulling up on EVERYTHING! He is still rotten and attached to me by the hip :) but he is getting better.. Braydon is starting to want Beau to follow him EVERYWHERE and bring him into his room so they can play ninja turtles and batman together.. Last night he tried playing catch w/ a small football... LOL didnt work out so well.. Beau just looked at him like he was CRAZY!!!! Beau is SO happy when Braydon is around.. i have never seen such a big smile on his face other than when Braydon is walking towards him or tickling him.. it is so sweet :)

As you all know that having babies is crazy.. you have to be at the hospital REALLY early.. you have to stay in your room... Well we didnt want to bore Braydon so he stayed with his dad most of the time... my friend Kim helped out as well as my parents... Needless to say.. Braydon didnt meet Beau til he was almost 5 days old :(.. I had told him when he came home.. he would have baby Beau to hold.. he is the one to orginally give him that nickname as everyone calls him that... Braydon was so excited to get home so he could old baby brother.. Although he didnt understand how he got here and how my belly wasnt so big.. that was the first thing he asked me.. LOL didnt know quite what to say but I told him that baby Beau was in there and now he is here so my belly doesnt have to be big to keep him safe :) But we recorded this moment and i will forever treasure it :) Braydon has the sweetest heard EVER!

Giving thanks!

Hello!

I love this month and Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday ever! Something about the good food and family and friends!!! Its a day or month where you can express how thankful you are of things... even though you should all year.. but no one is perfect :) I love fall and pumpkin pie. I made sure i went to candle cafe and stocked up on my cinilla, and pumpkin pie... i LOVE the way my house smells. Travis was quite impressed when he came home last night... not mention that my LOVELY AMAZING maple pumpkin cheesecake was baking... YUMMY! will post the recipe soon.. its toooooo good not to share :)



So glad the hubby is home... bedtimes just arent the same without him.. the house is toooo quiet!We have some awesome things planned for this weekend and i will be excited to tell everyone about them Monday.. its a secret for now ;) Today Im thankful for my family.. my parents who gave everything to me and my sisters even though sometimes they didnt have it ;)My sisters who are my bestfriends and will do anything for me as i would themMy inlaws that are so wonderful.. i could ask for better! They love me so much.. they are just great people.. im glad i get to be apart of their awesome family :)My grandparents that i dont see very often but think about them alot! Awating news on my grandmother.. they think she has ovarian cancer... Lots of prayers are being sent her way.. My husband and kids because life would never be the same without them More to come! Oh and tons of pictures and video of Beau crawling :)

I LOVE blogging!

Well i have alot to write today.. i feel like this is more like a diary :) but anyways.. My husband is currently working 7 days on and 7 days off on location.. so the times that he is gone i have a real tough time getting the boys to and from school by 5:30 when they need to be picked up since i work outside the city limits of Midland


I get Beau and of course he is always happy to see me... the smile on his face is the best :)


We get in the car and drive all the way out to Greenwood to get Braydon and like he has been all week not very happy to see me because he was bad at school and he knows that he is in trouble.. I have no idea what to do anymore as I have tried everything!!!! I think Im gonna cool it for awhile and just try to understand that he is a boy and well boys can get crazy.. It is never that he cant complete his work.. it is usually because he horse plays w/ his classmates.. I might as well pick my battles and consider myself blessed that he is learning and finishing his work


I call Kenzie because she is starting to watch Beau in Greenwood.. THANK THE LORD.. im not having to drive all over town at the crack of dawn to be at work by 8:00am anymore starting Monday.. Kenzie has the cutest little boy ever! and im excited for Drake and Beau to be little buddies.. i think Drake will be teaching Beau a thing or two because he is older and much faster at crawling then Mr. Beau is..


On a greater note : TODAY IS FRIDAY!!! very excited for the weekend

oh my oh my!

well last night was the first night that I have seen my baby boy crawl long distances.... he is rotten and has always wanted to be held... Well he is no longer so clingy because he just follows me everywhere. I would go from room to room putting up laundry. It was the cutest thing because he was trying really hard to keep it up. I did find out that his favorite room is his older brother's room because ALL of the awesome things on the floor. Needless to say, as soon as baby brother went to bed, me and big brother had to have the "talk" about leaving small things around because of baby brother choking on them. Braydon was very understanding and we cleaned his room. This is bitter sweet because it is only the beginning of Beau wanting to do things for himself. It puts a smile on my face to see him trying new things and getting excited when its new but makes me sad because he will be as old as Braydon before i know it. Time flies WAY too fast!

anyone up for ice cream?

We took the boys to get ice cream with my mother in law and her boyfriend.. With Braydon it is always a hit as he has the sweetest sweet tooth ( he gets that from me ) but i was not expecting Beau to be hooked... I was wrong.. oh I was sooo wrong! He reached out and grabbed the cone one time and smashed it to his face.. :) silly boy!

im back tracking... Halloween 2009

Well as usual I wait to the very last minute to do anything.. Braydon wanted to be Batman and I wanted Beau to be a skunk "little stinker" LOL :) but as usual w/ my luck they were all out of Batman and of course the skunk was gone too.. so I was looking around and found an iron man costume ( which Braydon LOVES too ) so i grabbed that.. Travis and I went to the store to get our teletubby costumes.. oh yes.. i got him to be a teletubby but anyways, we stumbled upon a horse/cow costume or a lion. Of course we didnt agree so I just let Travis pick so he feels important HEHE and he picked the horse... well the minute we put it on him.. what does he do? He growls really loud... and Travis just starting laughing and admits that the lion wouldve been best ;) LOL I dont take the kids trick or treating.. we just go to house of family and friends and they usually have either a gift or bag of candy to give them and believe me... they have TONS of candy.. and it calls my name everynight after dinner.. im such a sucker for chocolate :)

After the kids fun.. we dropped him off at my mother's house so she could watch the boys while we went to my sisters halloween party.. Travis and I hardly do anything without the kids so we decided that we would have "adult night out"... It was HILARIOUS and fun!
